Freiburg Minster
The Freiburg Minster which ranked among the highest buildings worldwide in the 14th century, is today one of the most famous landmarks of the picturesque historic city. Having a height of 116 metres, the Minster is characteristic for Freiburg’s view of the city and is at the same time one of the most popular places of interest.
Minster Square
The Minster Square is an area surrounding the Freiburg Minster. Small cafes and shops are located on this square as well as the city library, the historic department store, the Wentzingerhaus and the Korn House.
Market Hall
The Market Hall of Freiburg hosts more than 20 market stalls providing a rich offer of international and regional dishes and beverage. You can taste Italian and Chinese food but also traditional dishes from Baden.
Schlossberg (Castle Hill)
You can enjoy a perfect view of the historic city from above not only from the Freiburg Minster but also from the top of the Castle Hill. The hilly mountain offers a unique view of the city up to the Vosges mountains.

Another eyecatcher on the Minster Square is the historic department store which ranks among the most considerable places of interest characterized by its red facade and exceptional structure.
Schwabentor + Martinstor
Schwabentor and Martinstor are two of the original four city gates which are still preserved. The street running through Schwabentor is Salzstraße, the street running through Martinstor is Kaiser-Joseph-Straße. Both streets used to be important trade routes and are of great historic importance.
